Lost love
A few days later..
Today was the day that both Syed and Christian had been waiting for, for months! They had decided to send her to school for the first time.
Originally they had debated whether to send her to an additional needs setting school, but the only one in the area didn't cater to Yasmin's needs so they had to rule that out.
Eventually they settled on Walford Primary, where Yasmin will go full days with the support of a 1-1 aide.
Since they had been home-schooling Yasmin, she luckily hasn't missed out on too much.
"Yas! Time to get up!" Syed said as he yelled up the stairs.
"Christian have you heard from Yas this morning? It's gone 8:15 and she's normally awake well before then." Syed said as he started to get slightly concerned.
"Come to think of it, no actually. Do you want me to go and check on her?" Christian offered, as he stopped feeding Matilda her milk.
"Would you mind? I can manage this one for a few minutes." Syed smiled as Christian jogged towards Yasmin's room.
"Yas?" Christian said as he knocked on her door.
No reply.
"Yas?" He called out as he poked his head around the door.
She was seemingly still asleep in her bed.
"Yasmin sweetheart... Rise and shine.." Christian said quietly as he entered the room and crouched down towards her bed.
"Yas?" Christian said as he started to get concerned.
He shook her shoulder lightly as her head lolled limply like a rag doll.
"SYED CALL 999 IT'S YASMIN!" Christian said as he pulled the girl out of the bed and placed her into the recovery position.
Syed came running up the stairs, Matilda in one hand and the phone in the other.
"Let me take Tilly. Stay with Yasmin." Christian said firmly as he took the 3 month old into his arms before running into their room.
He turned the TV on and changed the channel to Cbeebies before placing Matilda in her cot.
Checking she was safe, he left her temporarily.
"What have they said?" Christian said as he re-entered the room and crouched down to where Yasmin's limp body was laid.
"They are on their way. She's got a pulse, i checked. It's barely there though... What's happened to cause this?" Syed said as he paced around anxiously.
"I don't know... This is so bizarre! She was fine last night! Slightly warm yes but fine otherwise!" Christian replied.
"PARAMEDICS!" A voice called.
"I'll go." Syed said as Christian nodded gratefully.
"Hi, I'm Dixie and This is paramedic Collier. Who do we have here?" Dixie asked as she and the other paramedic entered the room.
"This is Yasmin she's our daughter. She's 7 and I just discovered her in bed lifeless." Christian explained as Syed looked on terrified.
"And is she on any medication?" Dixie asked as the other paramedic checked Yasmin's blood sugars.
"Ritalin for ADHD, She's been on it almost two months now." Syed replied as Dixie nodded.
"And no illnesses?" Dixie checked.
"She was slightly warm to the touch last night but we gave her some Calpol and she was fine." Syed replied as Dixie ran some tests.
"We definitely need to get her seen, Jeff can you get the stretcher please?" Dixie asked as Jeff stood and quickly went to go and retrieve the said item.
"Don't worry. We'll get to the bottom of this." Dixie said as she smiled at the two anxious men stood terrified about what might happen next.
Until next time....
BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :)
