Moving in day!
"Dada!" Matilda exclaimed as she clapped her hands excitedly as they pulled up to their new home.
"Yes Tilly, we're here!" Christian grinned as Matilda giggled, hyper on all the sugar she had been given already.
"How much sugar has she had?" Syed said as he rolled his eyes playfully.
"Don't blame me! Your mum had her this morning." Christian said as he held his hands up in a mock-surrender.
"Out please!" Matilda said as she kicked her legs.
"Dada's just coming koala." Christian replied as he got out of the car.
"Now Tilly you have got to listen to Dada okay?" Christian said firmly.
The movers were in and out of the house, the last thing they needed was for Matilda to get in the way.
"Otay!" She smiled as Christian took her out of the carseat and bent down to her level.
"You can have your iPad to play with while we organise the house okay? But no running around or being silly. Understood?" Christian asked as the little girl nodded.
He then grabbed Matilda's changing back and shrugged it on to his shoulder before taking hold of Matilda's hand.
"Ready Sy?" Christian checked as Syed nodded.
"Yep!" Syed replied.
The group walked up to the house, and through the front door.
"This is insane." Syed laughed.
"Definitely." Christian replied as Matilda giggled.
"Come on then Tilly, let's get you settled in the lounge." Syed said as Matilda clapped her hands.
"Here's her iPad, and some snacks for her." Christian said as he handed Syed the said items.
"I'm going to go and see how the movers are getting on okay?" Christian said as Syed nodded.
"Right munchkin." Syed said as he walked into the lounge, Matilda toddling after him.
"What are you going to watch?" Syed asked as he unlocked the ipad and opened Disney+.
"Sofia!" Matilda said as she pointed at the show on the screen.
"Okay, Sofia it is." Syed smiled as he turned up the volume and handed Matilda her snacks.
"If you need us Tilly, just shout okay?" Syed said as the toddler nodded, engrossed in her show.
"Good girl." Syed said as he ruffled her hair.
Syed then found Christian in their bedroom, organising some of their clothes.
"Hey." Syed smiled as Christian jumped slightly.
"Bloody... What the hell was that for!" Christian said as he clutched his chest.
"Sorry, i just had to." Syed laughed as Christian rolled his eyes.
God Syed could be such a child sometimes.
"Tilly okay?" Christian asked as Syed sat next to him.
"Yep, happy as can be watching Sofia. I don't think she even realised i left." Syed laughed.
"Bless her. Shall we start unpacking her stuff next?" Christian said as he put the finishing touches in their room
"Good idea." Syed agreed.
"Any update from the hospital?" Christian asked as he stood up, moving the empty boxes out of the way.
"Yeah actually. They are thinking about letting Yasmin come home this week." Syed grinned as Christian's jaw dropped.
"Seriously!? You're not messing around or anything are you?" Christian checked as Syed shook his head.
"I got a call from her consultant earlier, they've been really impressed with her progress recently. She's walking more and trying to communicate better. They feel as if she may now heal better at home. Of course we will have to have nurses come in at first so we know what to do with her care but her consultant sounded really positive." Syed admitted.
"Sy, that's incredible!" Christian exclaimed.
"I've been wanting to tell you all morning but miss big ears downstairs had other ideas." Syed said as he rolled his eyes playfully.
"Hey leave my Tilly-billy out of it." Christian said as he kissed Syed deeply.
Slowly, they were digging themselves out of the trenches and coming out stronger than ever before.
