Chryed- lost love
Big old TW (drugs) for this chapter. Reader reads at their own discretion.
It had been three days since their lives had been completely uprooted, and both men had been coping to the best of their abilities.
Or so Christian thought.
Waking early had become a habit he had gotten into after the stress of the past 72 hours, sleepily shuffling into the kitchen he was shocked to see Syed, limp and lying on the kitchen floor.
"Sy?" He said, shaking his shoulder lightly.
Nothing.
"NO! DON'T YOU DARE." Christian said as tears blurred his vision.
"You're not bloody doing this!" He said firmly, grabbing his phone out of his pocket and dialling 999.
"I-I-I need an ambulance. It's my husband. I-I think he's- he's overdosed." Christian said as his voice shook.
Glancing towards the table, he saw the packet.
Syed wasn't one to do drugs. This was the actions of a very desperate and broken man.
"The address is 48c, Walford E20." Christian said as he placed Syed into the recovery position.
Twice in the past 3 months he's had to do this.
He doesn't know how much more he can take.
Shaking the thoughts away, he waits for the paramedics to arrive.
"Paramedics!" He hears a voice call.
"Up here! Please hurry!" Christian says urgently.
"Hello, I'm Leslie and this is Ben. Who have we got here?" Leslie asked, as Ben began to take some of Syed's vitals.
"Syed. He's my husband." Christian says as he holds on tightly to Syed's limp hand.
"Please, tell me it isn't too late. Please!" Christian begged.
"He's breathing. We need to get him some help though." Ben confirmed as Christian nodded.
Before he knew it, Syed was being lifted onto a strecher and into an ambulance.
It was like someone was playing tricks on their family.
Seeing how much they could take before they broke.
Having been blue-lighted to the hospital, Syed was instantly taken to RESUS.
"I'm sorry, you need to wait here." A nurse apologised as he was pushed out of the room.
Sliding down the wall, he put his head between legs and sobbed.
Broken didn't even cut it. They were at fracture point.
2 hours later, a doctor finally came out to speak to him.
"Mr Clarke?" He checked as Christian nodded.
"I'm Dr Bellingham and i've been overseeing your husbands care today. We can confirm he did overdose on what we believe to be over the counter medication. We've flushed his system twice and so far he seems to be improving. We will monitor him for the next 24-48 hours and hopefully after that he should be able to go home. He will be groggy for some time though, you are welcome to come and sit with him." The doctor smiled slightly as Christian wiped his tears away before speaking.
"He's-He's okay?" Christian confirmed as the doctor nodded.
"Absolutely fine. Thus far we cannot see any permanent damage to any of his organs from the overdose. We will of course continue to check throughout the next 24 hours but the early signs are positive. He's incredibly lucky." the doctor finished.
"Thank you! Thank you so much." Christian said as he stood, shaking the mans hand before entering Syed's room.
For the first time in the last 72 hours, Syed looked restful, comfortable and at peace. He no longer looked soul destroyed or broken.
"Hey you." Christian said softly.
"What were you trying to do?" Christian said as he raised his eyebrows concerendly.
"It doesn't matter now anyways." Christian said as he shook his head.
"We are going to get you some help okay? You'll never have to suffer alone again." Christian said as he settled down beside Syed.
"I love you. I always have and always will." Christian finished as exhaustion began to overwhelm his system.
"I'll be here for as long as it will take okay?" Christian said as sleep finally took ahold.
The war hadn't been won, but the battle had ended. Together they'd get Syed help and get their girls back.
Hope you all enjoy this chapter. They are hopsefully going to become more regular be August 1st at the latest. Until next time...
