New arrival

Seven hours later....

Christian has just returned from theatre to have a tube placed in his lung to drain the excess air from his lungs, and Syed is by his bedside.

"Sy...." Christian groaned, his voice croaky.

"It's okay. I'm here." Syed soothed.

"Where-Where-am i?" Christian asked, begining to come to.

"You're at the hospital, you collapsed after saving Lily's life." Syed replied as he held on tightly to his partners hand.

God, he had been terrified. If Christian hadn't of made it, it would've killed him. He didn't know how he would of gone on.

"Is-is she-okay?" Christian asked.

"Yes, apart from a few cuts and bruises and a broken wrist, she's absolutely fine." Syed said as he smiled broadly,  tears in his eyes.

"What's-that-in-your hands?" Christian asked as he tried to sit up to get a better look.

"You know how we were on the register to adopt, years ago?" Syed asked.

"Yeah..." Christian said skeptically.

"Well... It turns out that our licenses were still active, i got a call three hours ago to ask if we could take this little girl on. And it just so happened that she was at this hospital too." Syed said as Christian's mouth gaped open.

"No way...." Christian said as he began to cry.

"Meet, our daughter." Syed said as he stood and leaned over slightly so Christian could get a good look at the little girl.

"She's perfect." Christian said as he continued to sob.

An hour later...

"So we are agreed." Syed said as Christian nodded.

"Matilda Hafsa, Welcome to the world. Our bringer of happiness, our little ray of sunshine. You are so loved." Christian and Syed both spoke.
